In case you missed last week’s edition, check it out below.
Finding the optimal amount of content to post can be tough.
Post too much and you quickly become annoying to your followers.
Post too infrequently and people forget who you are.
Where’s the sweet spot?
It short, it depends.
But here’s a framework to use when trying to find what works for you.
How to How to Find Your Optimal Content Cadence:
Post daily.
Ask for feedback.
Improve quality (measured by engagement).
Use analytics to learn what worked & what didn't.
Look at comments, likes, & shares.
Double down on what's working.
Increase cadence until engagement drops.
Start by posting daily content.
The goal here is to experiment a ton. Try to find the topics, formats, and platforms that work for you best.
Next, you want to ask for feedback from the people who are engaging with your content. Reach out to a handful of these people and simply ask them how you can do a better job with your content. Ask what they’d like to see more/less of. Ask if there are specific pieces or sub-topics that they’d like you to write about.
Keep a running tab of all the feedback and start building out individual social posts for each note. You can even turn some of these into weekly series if you have a lot to say on the topic.
Once you’ve implemented this feedback and have kept up a consistent (daily) posting cadence, take a look at your analytics.
Look for trends that tell you what objectively worked vs didn’t work.
Look at engagement per post.
Comments, likes, & shares.
You should be able to identify types of posts and topics that are landing well with your audience.
Now that you know what is working, double down.
Increase your content cadence (this could mean 2x per day, 10 posts per week, or a few days where you post twice).
Keep up this cadence for a few weeks or until you notice a drop in engagement.
If you don’t see a drop in engagement then this means your audience is really enjoying your content and likely wants to see more of it (if this is the case then try to increase your content output even more).
If you’re a social media team of 1, I’d suggest using a scheduling tool to keep track of your content output.
I’m using Typefully right now for X & LinkedIn and really enjoying it. But really, any tool should work fine. Your goal should be to build out a bank of daily content for a few weeks, then supplement with more content if needed.
Aside from posting on a regular basis, having an active community management strategy will help build your presence.
The ideal situation is daily posting, dozens of replies, outbound community building, liking other posts in the feed, and developing 1v1 relationships in the DMs (with your fans, users, customers, peers, etc.).

If you’re finding value in this newsletter, I’d really appreciate a share on social!
It goes a long way for me.
Thank you!
